No - The DataShare technology creates a temporary bridge between the general ledger application and the portal. The tool only works in two scenarios:
- User who has access to the data in the accounting application clicks the button on DataShare and uploads the data. Click here for data upload guides
- User provides a backup which will be processed by DataShare Support team to get the data available on the portal. For example, a QuickBooks backup has a .QBB extension. Click here for backup upload guide
If Client Managers find themselves in situation 1 or 2, they should set up the engagement as “internal” instead of external. They will then be able to upload the data or back from the portal section (Engagement for portal > scenario 1, backup for portal > scenario 2).
