Before investigating any DataShare Connect error validate that the SME can access the data through their Accounting Package.
This is the best way to double check the SME is using the correct credentials and has the correct access permissions for the data they are trying to upload.
If the user is unable to access the data using the credentials in their possession then it follows that DataShare connect will be unable to access the data using the same credentials.
For DataShare Connect to access Sage 50 UK data you will need to know;
- Which Company you want to upload data from.
- The Username and Password for the company data file you wish to upload.
The default Username and password for Sage 50 UK set by Sage is "Manager" without the quotes and <blank> e.g. no password. In the most recent versions of Sage 50 UK a blank manager password is not allowed so expect the SME to have set their own password.
Supported Versions of Sage 50 UK.

This is the file that will be used by support to investigate and fix your issue. Visit this page for more information.
If DataShare Connect does not detect Sage 50 UK.
If DataShare Connect does not detect the Sage 50 UK package correctly check;
- “SOFTWARE\Sage\Line 50\” registry key from the LocalMachine hive. It must be present and contain subkeys for each version of the accounting package installed.
- “SOFTWARE\Sage\Line 50\SettingsFolder” from the LocalMachine hive. It should not be empty and should contain at least one path to the Sage 50 UK settings folder.
